Yes, I know. I'm guessing we all do and it's not a fun subject to talk about because even though we say time and time again that we shouldn't -- the truth is, we do.
I know I do anyway.
I definitely take the modern-day conveniences for granted. I would not have been a good pioneer woman. I guess God knew that and let me be born in this time period instead.
We are without a clothes dryer at our house. And I don't like it. :-) Things just don't dry very fast hanging up. And they're definitely not as soft when they do dry like that.
Which is why I have been over at my in-laws house 5 times today using their dryer. I'm VERY thankful for that, but it's still kind of a pain to load up the wet clothes and the kids and go. But nevertheless, I am thankful that our clothes are dry today.
I like my dryer and have for over 15 years now, but I guess it's time to say good-bye to the ol' friend. It was a wedding present so it is hard to part with, but I think it's time.
On a side note -- for those of you who notice I just wanted you to know that I know it is March and my blog title graphic still has "Happy New Year" on it. I know it needs to be changed -- but not today. :-) Besides, I still wish you all a Happy New Year!

I would not have been a good pioneer woman either! I am very thankful for all of the appliances that make things a little easier!
Hope you find a new dryer soon!
Appliance break downs are such a bummer! Hope you love your new one when it comes!
And I had to chuckle at the conveniences thing. I have been reading a book about modern-day home-keeping and the author was talking about one of her grandmother's cookbooks. She stated that one of the recipes was beef stew for a crowd (I think or something similar). Included in the ingredient list was "a cow".
I guess we do have it pretty good, huh?
I wish you a Happy New Year, too!
(and I hope you get that new washer/dryer, too!)
