Fun on the 4th

Yes, I know I'm a little late, but if you're reading this, then you must still care what we did on July 4th. :-)

Anyway, we headed out for the annual parade and got THREE bags full of candy. Next year I say we park ourselves at the end of the route instead of the beginning so we don't collect so much!

Jason forgot his hat, so his grandmother shared her's. Isn't HE lovely...?

After the parade, we walked around the park and "shopped" a bit. But the boys couldn't wait any longer to go to the carnival. So, we did. They rode the ferris wheel with Poppa:

Then they chose to ride the dragon roller coaster together. What sort of advice do you think big brother is giving little brother here?

Then for their last ride they each chose to ride the BIG slide.

Jaxon did have a smile on his face when he got done, but with the look on his face in this picture, I wasn't so sure he enjoyed it.
After a yummy cookout of hamburgers, we all got in the pool. It was lots of fun! Jaden just got a blow-up slide for his birthday so we got to put it to good use.

You couldn't make Jaxon get in the water last year, but this year, it is a completely different story. He just takes off running and jumps in before you even know he's gone. Watch out water...

Leslye couldn't seem to find a float to relax on so she made her own. Very inventive, don't ya think?

Then the big boys had to get in on the slide action, too. Luckily there were no serious injuries. :-)
Right after we got out of the pool, it poured down rain. We were afraid the fireworks would be canceled, but they weren't. Yeah! We did have to move our firework-watching party to the front yard because the backyard was pretty muddy. But it was great!

Hope you all had a fun and happy 4th!
