Jaxon's First Field Trip

Jaxon is loving kindergarten.  He is learning to read and learning new math concepts and just enjoying being with his friends.

But, this was the day he had been waiting for.  The day of the field trip to Mrs. Bowen's farm.  You may or may not remember, but Mrs. Bowen was Jaden's kindergarten teacher.  She retired after Jaden's year.  And Jaxon was really not willing to accept that.  He really wanted Mrs. Bowen to be his kindergarten teacher.  Which is kind of funny considering he wouldn't hardly say one word to Mrs. Bowen the whole year that Jaden had her.  :-)

So, he was extremely excited to find out that in Mrs. Hester's class (who just happens to be Mrs. Bowen's best friend), they got to go on a field trip to her farm.

We had a great time!  And these are the sweet ladies that made it all possible...
They are both a very important part of my life as a mom who loves her boys and didn't want them to go to school!  :-)

We started first with getting to pet the goats...

Then a tour of the tractor...

We took a ride on the trailer to the pasture...

Here are two of Jaxon's good friends, Brite and Mason...

Once we got down to the pasture, we took a nature walk.  We found lots of tracks:  turkey, deer, and hogs.

Mrs. Bowen told us all about deer...

Then, we got to do centers where the kids made Indian necklaces, Indian headbands, got their faces painted, made and ate s'mores and paint a tee-pee.  Each kid got to pick an Indian symbol to paint on the class tee-pee.  Jaxon chose to paint "camp."  Coincidently, it's the exact same symbol Jaden chose to paint when he took this field trip.

After centers, we ate hot dogs and the kids got to run and play.  It was a very fun day!  I got this great picture with Mrs. Bowen and Jaxon.

He was very excited to get to ride on the bus!

Thanks to the Bowens and Mrs. Hester for such a great day!
