Soccer Season At Last

Well, today was the day.  The "first game of the season" as Jaden puts it.  And it was very exciting!  We are the Green Team.  We played the Gold Team.  It was fun, fast-paced and just down-right tiring to watch those kids run up and down that field for almost one hour.

Jaden came very close to making a goal, but one kid (who was NOT the goalie) stopped it with his hands before the ball could make it into the net.  I guess it was a good save for the other team, except that we don't have goalies, and so no one is supposed to use hands.  Oh, well.  Maybe next time!  Our team did end up making three goals and they were all very excited about those -- giving high-fives and congratulating each other.  It was such a neat example of good sportsmanship from 4 and 5 year olds.

When the game was over, I heard one kid on our team ask Jason, "Coach, is
it over already?"  Jason replied with a faint, but joyful "yes" as sweat rolled down his face.  He did a great job as the coach!

Jaden had a blast and is ready for the next game!

Jaxon cheered very loudly for his big brother and is ready to get out on that field as soon as we say "go!"
